If I'm the one who owns the land and who is now making more money because the more efficient guy is paying me more rent while staying happy himself, then I would say that is superior.  

I reject the contention that someone is preventing someone else from farming through the act of renting a small fraction of the number of acres in a single county....spread out over many counties. 

Would you consider a grain buyer who paid you twice as much to be superior to one who paid you the lesser amount?   The guy who pays less is able to get the same net income from handling a lot less grain.
