Southeast Colorado | We too have mega farms surrounding us even where you would think no one would want to farm. I'm not saying it would be right, (in fact quite the opposite) but when one of these guys gets in a mega expansion mode, and he happens to push someone over the edge, his days of expanding may be over. I think that's called going POSTAL, right? Story has it that several decades ago that happened in a county near here. Guess a neighboring famer had decided his neighbor had gotten big enough. In these days of complicated laws and life it makes one sometimes long for the old days. There is a local radio add that starts out something like, "back in the days of the old west a man was allowed to graze as much land as he could defend". Maybe a little harsh but definately simpler! | |
