How can ILLFF claim to be a family farm any more than Wal-Mart being a family grocery store.
What would you consider a "family grocery store?" How about one where there are half a dozen family members running the place and 25-30 more employees stocking the shelves running the checkouts, etc? IIRC looking on ILFF's website a year or so ago there were two families that had a half a dozen or so individuals involved running the place. I am guessing, but by their size I would guess 25-30 more employees, less on a FTE basis.
I think you may be making my point comparing to Wal-Mart, just replace them with Smithfield, ADM, Cargill, etc.
Rodney Dangerfield said "If you want to look thin, hang out with fat people", to me ILFF looks much more like a family farm when you compare them to the worlds largest public corporation with more employees than the population of Nebraska! | |
