It’s too easy for your dad’s promise to be broken. They forget, change their minds, get it taken away, or whatever. Even if your parents want it to happen, it might not.
You need to tell him how much the farm means to you but you just don’t see this ending the way he says. If he has 2.5 million to promise to you, he has the means to compensate you today. (Give you the combine today as compensation, with you promising he can always use it?)
In the end he will respect you more for standing up for your family. Just try not to get angry or emotional. It is what it is.
