A lot of advice being thrown around here. Unfortunately, as much as my dad was a good man, I'm afraid that I'd be in a similar pickle if he was still alive. He just had a hard time letting go of his way of doing things.

Mom and I work together pretty well and I was always compensated somehow for my labor until a few years after college when I started farming full time. Now we each have our own enterprise, but still have a few things to better resolve to address planned capital improvements.

I don't know what the best solution is for you, but don't work for free. DON'T! Here's a question that you NEED to answer for yourself, but don't necessarily need to share with us. Do you spend more time with your wife, or working with your dad? If your wife isn't getting your attention in your unpaid time, you are not giving marriage the priority it deserves.
