C IL | Or at least go to counseling yourself. If dad doesn’t want to go or change behavior you can at least work through your feelings of anger and helplessness.
Man, I feel pretty luck my family farm situation.
I also have empathy as my FIL struggles with agitated depression and has largely fought attempts to for the family to help him, for years. It extracts a heavy toll on the spouse and kids and kids-in-law. Mom’s are in a rough spot because they love their kids but need to support their spouse first.
Could just be my experience talking but maybe your dad is depressed due to living in town away from the lifestyle he always knew. | |
