NE Oregon | Thank you Sarah.
That means a lot. I think I am doing all the “right” things you suggest (although we live about 8 hours from any zoo and 4 from any major city so fun outings to the city/shopping aren’t really feasible). I am involved in my own “hobbies”: worship team at Church, women’s ministries, coffee dates with friends, and one day per week I work at the hospital while my parents have the kids (I am a sonographer- recently cut back to very relief status in order to be home more for hubby.) It is a good reminder that this is just a season, as much for me as him, and that as the kids are older hopefully they can go out with dad and we can have more fun working together as a family. I do struggle to embrace the work. I went to college (as did you I’m sure) and make nearly $40 an hour at my town job- I went to college for the very reason that if I needed to support my family in the event my husband couldn’t I wouldn’t be reduced to manual labor- I’m much better working with my brain. He has ranching in his blood, so he never complains about the work and long days and sleepless nights. I wouldn’t last 1 day. But I do like to help with many of the jobs; it’s just as you said, a season where that isn’t really possible. Thanks for the encouragement. This too shall pass. | |
