Subject: RE: Catholic marrying a non- catholic, need advice

NW Iowa. / SW Arizona
I was Catholic my wife was Lutheran when we got engaged 39 years ago. We went to both Catholic and Lutheran pre-marriage class prior to getting married in her hometown Lutheran church.

We went to both churches alternatively together until we decided which religion was right for us.

After three years of doing this we or should I say I gave in and changed religions to the Lutheran religion. I did this 35 years ago and have absolutely no regrets doing so.

I can still remember the priest saying I had to raise our children catholic or else he wouldn't give me his blessings for me to marry a Lutheran. It still infuriates me to think he had the gull to say that and he truely meant it. I won't say anymore about some of my thoughts about the Catholic beliefs.

Oh by the way our sons were raised Lutheran and I have no regrets.
