Eric. Great point mentioned about the reason marriage is a sacrament is we believe it is a Gift from God. When we went through pre Cana that was a topic brought up all the time. Receiving the sacrament of marriage means two become one through God.

I also really agree with your last statement. If you do not want to do it. Don't. If you want to receive the sacrament of marriage in the Catholic Church you know what is required.
