Northern Illinois
swne your post shows what is wrong with this topic of peoples ignorance towards the catholic marriage process. ANY catholic getting married that wants their church to recognize the marriage whether marrying ANOTHER CATHOLIC or a Methodist, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Baptist, Presbryterian or any other Christian religion HAS TO GO THROUGH THE PROCESS. The church does not discriminate whether the person you are marrying is Catholic or any other Christian denomination you have to do it. Not saying at one time in history the church may or may not tried to discourage you from marrying outside the faith. But my priest never once batted an eye or said I could not marry my wife for not being Catholic!
