Subject: Catholic marrying a non- catholic, need advice

I'm catholic and I'm marrying the girl of my dreams soon. Shes not catholic but she is an un baptised christian. I had a sister just go through this exact same thing a year ago but they got married in a catholic church. We are getting married at her church in her hometown. So I asked my priest what it would take to get our marriage blessed/ recognized by the catholic church so we set up a time to visit with him. He started throwing all these schedules and forms to fill out and pre-cana classes to attend. And paperwork that her parents have to go to the priest in her hometown (whom they never met) to get it filled out by him stating that shes never been married before. So its basically the same protocol as my sister went through getting married in the catholic church. Is this normal protocol? It seems very excessive. Thanks.
