A year was the same length of time, but the earth turned slightly slower giving them a 360 day year. See the ancient Egyptian calendars. I doubt they were idiots.
If the Genesis is true, the earth was a perfect place, therefore life expectancy was higher and those people did live to over 900 years.
The flood occurs. A massive catastrophe that broke up the continents and moved them, formed mountains, and gave us many of the challenges we face today. Including shortening our life expectancy.
A faster spinning earth has less days per year. Also, we now know that plate tectonics move continents and form mountains, not floods or massive catastrophes (excluding meteors, of course). |
