And explain that if he cannot make the trade that you are interested and explain that if he needs to get straight with the land owners fast or something is going to happen. All of that being said there is a story behind the story and you will probably have an understanding after your visit with your friend. But above all else respect your friend's rented land despite the encouragement from some here to just go rent the farm.
