SW Iowa | I'd tread pretty easy, and be honest with the Land Lord about your concerns.
Tell him you are very interested in renting it, but would it be OK if you contact the previous tenant to discuss what rates of fertilizing and weed control, and seed selections he had used. After all, if he had salted the land with atrazine, you might want to plant corn on it.
If he says NO, he would rather you not contact him, you know there are some hard feelings there, and then it will be up to you whether you fish or cut bait on that deal w/o talking the the previous tenant.. | |
