I won't go to a land owner & try to rent ground out from under someone. However, if the land owner comes to me and the offer is fair, I'm not going to turn it down. Farming is a business, you don't see other businesses turning business down because the customer is a friend of someone else, why should farming be any different? As someone else said, some one else will be farming it if you don't. I've had it wok both ways. Lost ground that a friend now farms & farm ground that a friend use to farm. If the friendship is strong it will survive. If it doesn't, it will probably dissolve because of some other reason.
