| Asset or PITA? Answer is yes. Necessary evil if you can't handle it.
I have a buddy that's a farm hand. Been on the same farm since high school. Has everything you're asking for in the ad except haz mat and probably makes about what you're offering. He started working summer/weekend/evenings for $6/hour and became the employee he is. He also gets comp time for his OT in winter, profit sharing, and if he chores on the weekend (I think it's 2 weekends/month he chores) he gets a day off during the week.
All this to say, the farmer (3000 acres plus cattle and deep pockets) started with an untrained employee and built him. There's no way he could hire someone with all these skills off the street. | |
