I think a lot of respondents in this thread do not realize that 5,000 acres in that rainfall zone is not a large farm, and 25,000 acres of custom spraying is probably about medium sized anymore. This does not sound like a situation of a guy trying to run over all the competition to farm and spray the whole county.

That said, I think the wages are low for the skill requirements. You need to be prepared to instruct someone up to at least one or two of those skills to get someone willing to start in that pay range.

My guys make that much and don’t meet most of those requirements. One barely speaks English. They’re hourly and make time and a half over 45 hours, and we avoid working sundays even in peak seasons.

To work the hours in the ad on salary better involve a lot of time off in the off seasons, but that isn’t mentioned.
