Have you read your own ad from employee perspective? Sounds like nice operation with late model equip.

But what do you offer for them? You tell what you are looking for but what about employee? They want a life too.

If you really want longtime quality help, you have to sell yourself and the great opportunity you offer.

Your ad reads like nothing but work, weld, work, spray, harvest, work, work, work. As the owner you know that is what you do and what you need for your help to do. And they probably know it too, but at least make it sound good...haha. You know what I mean

Most good, stable longterm help (assume that is what you are looking for) will be at least 30 with a family.

Do you offer health ins? A truck with fuel? A decent house with utilities? Sunday off unless Ox is in the ditch? As one poster asked, what about schools, entertainment, churches, shopping?

Put positives in the ad.

What is off season or do you work all the time? Hunting, fishing? What about vacation time and Holidays? Do you knock off early when it rains? If not, start. With good help you can catch up quick and a little unexpected R&R will keep morale up.

With 5000k acres, do you have couple hundred you could let the right employee work on his own? As a poster said, anybody that would be interested would probably like to farm on their own but can't.

You have many ways to claim expenses on an employee while making life and work more enjoyable for them on your farm.

Or you could spend for bigger more automated devices equip or hire more custom work. Easy to spend your money in a post on AgTalk but the simply facts are you get what you pay for.
