SWOH | I don’t know what the ad looked like before you edited it or what is common in your area but l could meet those requirements and I make $14 dollars an hour but get full medical coverage for me, my wife, and 4 kids including eye and dental...no co pays or anything and get reimbursed for all medical which is a huge benefit. I don’t have my CDL but could probably get it fairly easily. Are there very many non full time farmers around your area that would have at least a year of spraying experience? That would be kind of hard to find around here.
I would probably take that job, but it would depend on who I was working for. There are some guys I know that I wouldn’t do that kind of work for for $200,000 a year. I’d have to know more about your area to know if what you’re offering is a reasonable wage or not.
Do you have any colleges with Ag programs nearby? Maybe relax the year of spraying experience and find a young guy that just wants to farm and be willing to do a little training. | |
