RYAN Farms - 12/26/2012 22:50 Long term yes. I just took a look at hog margin worksheet, if you were to put your owned pig at $39 in a barn for the next year and pay market price for your corn and market price on soy and ddg you would make $29 per turn or $58 per space/yr vs the $20-18 you get custom feeding. That is the rough math to it. ( figuring a wean to finish barn 2 turns) Take a look at this and do some of your own figuring. http://professionalagmarketing.com/images/E0176001/hogmarginsheetP3... I grouped up with other pig farmers and we built a sow farm. This was facilitated by Pipestone Systems. http://www.pipestonesystem.com/Pages/Default.aspx So I have a constant flow of pigs that I have a say in and ownership. I raise the corn to feed the pigs and use the manure that the pigs produce for fertilizer.
like to know what fantasy world they are living in?
