Subject: Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much guys......... all the comments are really helpful and I feel like there is a good cross spectrum of thoughts on here. Very good discussion.

I am also glad to see others seem to align with me that the popular custom feeding route is tying up capitol and giving someone a good hired man for 10 years

The manure aspect is a slippery slope for me, but right now I can 'boost' the soils on 550 acres within a mile of the building. Within a few years it is likely I will add 240 to that total within the mile of the building. To me the poop isn't worth much more then the cost of custom application, but big picture wise it is a nice way to boost some crop ground with more than just commercial fertilizer.

I also understand there is great risk involved when you also own the hogs. This discussion actually has me moro interested in a hog building then before. I grew up around hogs but 20 years ago probably was my last contact with a feeder to finish group. A lot has changed since then.
