all of the above,i just switched from raising and sourcing,and selling my own pigs,to custom feeding,need feed, pickup the phone,got health issues,pickup the phone,on one barn i still do the maintenance,on the other site,i pickup the phone,manure needs to be hauled,guy just shows up.there may be some niche stuff, but they have rules.if you decide to do it on your own,build according to industry standards,don't build a 1000 head barn,build a 1800,or a 2400,someday you may want to lease it out,pretty hard to get anybody interested in a 600,or 1000 head barn.
