what's it going to hurt to approach them? show a sincere interest,
but also express your concerns. i would hope a landowner could
see where you're coming from. the only downside i see is they assume
you aren't equipped to handle it and rent to someone else. you aren't
out anything because you don't farm it now anyway. easy to say from
1000 miles away! good luck.
