Subject: RL & C - That has to be the ....

dumbest thing I have heard in a long time. Why do you have to sit in a tractor to be a farmer. Why is managing not part of farming? Why would BTO's (whatever your definition of them is) not love farming. It sounds like Monsatan lives and breathes farming. If that isn't loving farming, then I don't know what is. Why is farming always defined by tractor seat time. I spend more time in my office, at meetings, at the elevators, scouting fields, checking bins, planning crop rotations, buying inputs then I do in a seat of a tractor/combine/ or sprayer and I spend as much time in equipment as anyone else on this farm. In my opinion, the time spent "managing" and the decisions made "managing" is what separates the men from the boys so to speak.

I just can't get over how people think that managing isn't part of farming.
