western NY | I have used a machine for about 10 years, I was bad before, I woke up choking every few minutes. I am sure I would not be here without it, I have used the machine the whole night since day one. I am on my second machine a Resmed airsence 10, it adjusts to the pressure you need and can be set to ramp up slowly to let you get to sleep easier. I use just a mask over my nose, you have to get used to keeping your mouth closed. I also have a SoClean machine that cleans all the internal part and the mask with ozone. The other post was correct on using distilled water and I have the heated hose attachment that give you warm moist air so you don't get a dried out nose and mouth. Good luck, after using cpap for a few months my heart rate dropped from around a 100 to 60 to 70 range and my blood pressure dropped to a healthier level. | |
