That's the big catch: FORCE.

Most people of all ages and backgrounds love meat. They won't ban or tax it because of methane, even the AOC had to quickly scrub that part from her FAQ. But I do believe a significant portion of the country would back legislation to FORCE us to be more "humane". Even though they might not understand that more will die in the mud and cold and their prices will go up, they could sleep well knowing they kept the pigs out of "cages" and they lived free. In my opinion, the portion of the country who would like that is far larger than the vegans or ban the methane green types, those are tiny minorities.

I could see some humane treatment act coming down the pike within a generation.
