Not by my choice, just by my circumstances....what you are describing is sorta' how I rasie hogs. Not sure there'd be much of an "industry" if everyone had to raise them this way. The weather for the coldest and hotest parts of the year make getting 2 farrowings a year rather tricky. The hog industry would definately be limited in what states/climates it could continue in.
