Subject: RE: High school sports again

Puckerville Dead center N.Y.
Spoken from the other side...I am the coach. I would never do as this coach did. Calling a kid names is unacceptable. I dealt with a situation on missed practice just this week. I said there will be a punishment for missing practice in front of the team. When he asked what it will be I told him we would talk privately. He will miss the first half of the next game. I do not yell or berate the guys. They are people also.

The other side of the coin is dealing with parents. They can be downright brutal. Many times the only player they see is related to them. They fail to see their child's play is costing the team.

Yes adding up the hours spent the pay is far below minimum wage. The rewards are far greater than the money.

Highschool sports goes way beyond all-star status and wins and losses. Those that fail to see this are missing out on wonderful life's lessons. This does not only apply to the participating athletes.
