Dearfield Co.
My kids are a little fresher than some posters that haven't been in school for 50 years. The way this would of been handled back in the day would of been a advance letter to the coach well before he decided to hold a practice on a day not usually used for practices. I would guess If I was the parent I would read the state laws that govern practices and see if he could legally call it a practice in the first place. In CO you can't have a official practice so that is why town teams of adults are set up allowing the kids to make teams and scrimmage. But none of them are mandatory attends.

Ill Steve has the best response at this point-----------If I wheelied up every time my kids were called pussy I would of never been able to feed them it would of taken to much time trying to defend them . Life isn't fair and the faster they learn to fend off name calling the better off they are....... If my kid went chest to chest with a school employee would worry me more than the name calling.
