When I played football 50 years ago a couple of brothers ask to leave practice at 4:30 rather than 5:00 so they could go home to milk the familys dairy cattle. The coach sent home a letter stating they needed to make up their mind to play football or milk cows. Their father sent them back the next day with a letter that told the coach it was his decision whether they practiced then left early to milk cows or they could drop football and just milked cows. Louie the Lip decided that having them for 1 hour of practice and both of them starting was better than neither of them and the cows still being milked. | |
