My wife was living in a new duplex when we were dating and those water pipes were buried underground but only about 4 to 6 inches. The contractor who built it lived in the other half and I had to help him thaw pipes outside when the weather got to sub zero for several days. He came from a warmer place. You don't know what you don't know.
