Running water won’t freeze.
This reminds me of a story my Dad used to tell... There's a small area around here which is known for Artesian wells. (or flowing wells) Anyways, back in the day when antifreeze was first needed in folks' cars, supposedly word got around Chicago about this water 100 miles south that never froze. A bunch of people showed up and filled their cooling systems with water out of these flowing wells, only to be quite surprised when the first cold snap arrived. :-)
