I just can't believe how many water pipes are in the attic in these videos. Plumbing rules need to be adjusted there also and when I worked for a city municipality you realize most people have no clue about their utilities and control points.
When I started dating my wife (who is from Houston, I'm in Wisconsin), I would go down to visit on a regular basis. Looking at "stuff" I was amazed at what I saw. How plumbing was done was one of them. Fact is, many folks in the south have never had to deal with -20 temperatures, so they don't build accordingly. You don't know what you don't know.
