Subject: RE: Heftys thoughts on banding

Ford County, IL
We usually don’t put anything down in front of beans. We put a 8-19-3 starter fertilizer in with the planter in furrow at around 3.5 gal per acre on corn. We used to do that with beans (at 1/3 the rate) until this past year, and that’s only because we bought and old 12 row planter for planting beans whilenthe 24 row is planting corn. We looked into getting a second tank for our strip till bar so we could vrt p&k, but with where our soil test results are, it was going to take a long time to pay for its self.
