So you are saying that banding works better/has more of a benefit in high pH soils than in more “normal” soils?

Why do most banding proponents ignore this, and make broad claims without this caveat?

And just because you band does not mean everything in the band is available either....

And if placement has so much to do with uptake, why was there no significant yield difference in our own field trials here over a 25-year continuous trial period comparing banded starter vs. no starter? Furthermore, these trials of starter vs. no starter showed no significant yield difference in spite of the broadcast-only checks having less total fertilizer applied...in other words, the whole fields got one broadcast rate including the no-starter checks, which had no offsetting broadcast fertilizer added.
