Exactly. A bushel removes a set amount, doesn't matter how it is applied. If you want to maintain your fertility level you have to apply what the crop removes, no way around that.



yep a bushel removes the same no matter the system. but banding can cut easily 50% because all the product you put down is in the root zone. when you broadcast it covers the whole 30 inches and lots of it isn't in the root zone.
U of MINN. has many articles on this and so does many other university's. not exactly rocket science to understand how it works.

in our larger granular soil deep banding under the row has been a huge booster to production in them low production areas.


Corn roots go out further than your "band".
