Freedom, WI | The barn is in I'll just say good shape but the freestalls are what need some work. They are busted up and outdated. The cows have no lunge room. The cows only have I think 14 stalls and the heifers have the other side and about 28 stalls. To give the cows the best comfort, the freestalls would have to be totally reconfigured to give them the best comfort and room. By the time all that is done, I think it would be easier just to put up a freestall barn a few feet down the road. Make it a 100 cow freestall with a parlor and add some more cows-we have enough land to support maybe 70? and let heifers have existing freestall and raise youngstock in the existing barn. These are just a few thoughts for the future. | |
