Sumner GA, Located in southwest GA, | Perhaps you are attacking the wrong problem then. What kind of shape is the dairy in? Is it viable still or can it be modernized? Any technology you can take advantage of? Upgrades to improve the dairy? Have you started making transition plans, since I assume you plan to take over one day. Might be time to explore options. Perhaps you might be as well off to limp your equipment along as much as possible and stick a few upgrades in the barn, or maybe more. If you are short labor now, it will get worse in the future, everyone gets older and loses capabilities.
