Subject: Re: GEO Thermal Heat ???....

Farmland, IN
TXCUTTER, I have a geothermal, and am by no means an expert on the matter, but can tell you a few things about my system. Mine is an open loop system, pulling ground water from my well and dumping back in a field tile. My unit has a compressor in it and some sort of refrigerant, I think it's called Puron. I don't know much about the mechanics of it, but I do know the incoming water from the well is about 52 degrees, and after passing thru the geo and exiting out the drain, it is much colder than that. I suppose the geo is somehow pulling heat from the water to do it's job.

That's about all I know, but I will say that I really like the system, especially the part about not paying the fuel man.
