I have had my geo since 1992, I have a 5 ton system if my memory is correct , closed loop(don't know how many feet), 3000 sq ft. The back-up usually comes on at -20 with a 20mph wind which isn't very often in WC Ohio. For what it's worth I have a Water Furnace and could not be happier with the operation cost and maintenance cost, I have spent less than $30 in repairs in 17 years!
