Subject: RE: GEO Thermal Heat ???....

NW Missouri
We heat a 10,000 sq ft commercial building with six units hooked up in a continous loop Total of 30 ton capacity and it generally does a very good job even in these cold conditions (-4 F last night). The loop consists of sixteen 200 ft loops similar to Iseedit's picture although our system have the loops in individual trenches seven feet deep. Total capacity of the system is around 600 gallon. Circulation is with 2 two-inch centrifugal pumps on a three hp motors. We anticipate we will need to change them out this coming year. We continually monitor the water temperature coming into and going out of the system and at the start of heating season the water temperature will be close to 58 to 60 deg with the system extracting 4 to 5 degrees when it circulates back to the field. As we get into January and February the incoming water teperature will drop to 50 degrees and the system will extract only 2 to 3 degrees of heat. It really shines best in the air conditioning for the summer. Our total electrical bill will max out at about $800 in a very cold month but that includes all electrical needs for four offices and three meeting rooms, grinder pump, etc.
