Subject: Bu. weight on corn revisited. This article was posted

Panhandle of Ne.
yesterday and I thought about it all day while hauling 52-55 lb. corn. Please read the last paragraph and help me to understand how low bu. weight doesn't affect yield.

I pull a 43ft. wilson hopper, and when corn is normal bu. weight, 56-57, I can haul 1100-1200 bu. dry weight corn with corn piled up to the tarp bows. Hauling the same volume, mass etc. of 52-55 lb. corn, I drop down to 900-1000 bu. How is that not affecting the production, yield of the corn?
