Not required if you have deep enough pockets to call someone and pay $100-200/ hour to fix stuff. Or enough cash to keep everything under warranty. Either way the downtime waiting for someone else to fix stuff would hurt. If you have some uncommon sense and a phone with access to agtalk and YouTube you can do a lot.
