Subject: RE: Does anyone farm with limited mechanical knowledge?

Floyd County, Iowa
My father-in-law raised cattle and hogs, and had 400 acres of row crops. He was gifted when it came to animals, but was not mechanically inclined.
There's a local farmer owned/operated shop 3 miles down the road. F-I-L had that shop do every bit of maintenance and mechanic work for him. He knew his strong points and his weak points, and decided to do his thing and let the mechanic do his thing. He had a small, basic set of wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, and hammers, mostly used for repairing waterers, feeders, and feed equipment.
It worked well for him.
