I think your transportation model is useful and environmentally sound choice. However, 'Virtue signaling' is how cars have been sold forever and how your ‘08 expedition was sold when new, some truth some blue sky.

I find most of these discussions are a tug-of-war over a consumer's decision to own a limited number of vehicles (think 1) that can serve all transport needs VS. owning specialized vehicles (think many?).

What surprising is my preconceived notion that EV are another form of specialized vehicles is rejected by so many voices here. Secondly, my vehicles are 25 and 19 years old, and doing fine. That means ICE tech will still be in use in 2060-2070. Yet, folks feels squeezed by a 'mandate'. The surprise is the lack of comprehension of reality.
