If we want to learn from history we need to record it accurately.

The govt forced those squiggly compact fluorescent bulbs on us. Many did not work out of the box. None gave off the advertised light equivalence. They were filled with toxic gasses. They did not last nearly as long as advertised. They were more fragile than previous bulbs. This was the govt answer to a problem that wasn’t much of a problem.

Fortunately there is still some innovation left in the country, and led lights as well as halogen for some uses were developed to actually give us safe and dependable lighting again.

Despite the govt, not because of their miserable non working poor dangerous squiggly bulbs. It was expensive, and still is, to get there from here.

Yes, in 27 years you can save the cost of the new bulb in lower electric bills. Not with the govt squiggly bulbs tho.
