When we built our new house a few years ago, we specifically installed only LED fixtures throughout for everything. The only 2 incandescent bulbs we have are in one of the 3 sockets in each of the 2 ceiling fan lights. Even though the fan light dimmer and LED bulbs are dimmer rated, they still flicker without a slight resistance from an incandescent bulb in the circuit.

We’ve had mixed success with longevity of the LED bulbs. The light fixtures with built in LEDs have been super reliable and not had to change a single one.

The screw in PAR 38’s in the can lights are terrible and burn out in less than 6 months. We’ve tried different brands and the newest ones are even worse. They’ve cheapened them up and are overdriving the LEDs to get the same light output which causes them to overheat.
