Malta, Illinois | That sounds right. I am very early in the process of researching things but it looks like systems run anywhere $3.50 to $4.00 per KW of the system. It is a big initial cash outlay. The payback comes in the form of a 30% federal tax credit, SREC Credits, and being able to do a 179 expense on the balance. That is what I am learning but my research is in the very early stages. That is how it works in Illinois. Not sure about Minnesota. If a person can take advantage of those three things I think the payback will get down to something a little more manageable like 5 years. | |
