Arizona is very solar friendly so we have net metering, which our provider seems to be OK with. I think they make a considerable profit in so doing, which is OK with me.
But talking about solar friendly states, Illinois seems to be even more so. Serious subsidies on EVs for you folks.

Just curious, assuming you are talking about true net metering where your excess power is exchanged 1 kwh:1 kwh when you aren't generating power and need power off the grid, how does your power provider make considerable profit off of net metering?

Strictly from a mathematical/economical/financial standpoint net metering has to be a loser for the power company.     So is it coming from govt incentives for "green" power or somewhere else?
