NE Iowa | Have you ever looked at the total cost of ICE vs EV? Upfront cost, ongoing maintainence costs, major component repair/replacement costs, longevity, residual value, etc? This analysis would need to include any incentives to the mfg and customer of either solution that help defray any of these expenses.
A similar analysis would be interesting for your solar panels. I would guess that whether or not someone is in a net metering environment is the difference between those paying their own way or not. Our REC will buy our solar produced power at wholesale and sell it back to us at retail. That doesn’t work. | |
